Ali Yerlikaya, Governor of Istanbul, attended the programme organised in the scope of the National Day of Qatar. Governor Yerlikaya, who made a speech during the program, emphasized the belief in brotherhood between the two countries and the common values shared by Turkey and Qatar.
The Programme organised by Istanbul Consulate General of the State of Qatar due to the National Day of the State of Qatar was attended by Ali Yerlikaya, Governor of Istanbul, Consuls General, Radm. Tayyar Ertem, Northern Sea Area Commander, Dr. Hülya Kaya, Deputy Governor, Dr. Mustafa Çalışkan, Provincial Security Director, and representatives of several NGOs, and representatives of the art and business spheres.
Governor Yerlikaya who made a speech at the reception stated that the power of brotherhood between Turkey was nurtured from the same consciousness and belief, and said "We are brother peoples who share an ancient history. We are tied to each other with the brotherhood of Islam that unites and fuses us. We are like different parts of the same body. We feel sorry for each other's problems and become pleased with each other's happiness. Our direction, path and festivals are the same. Our peoples gathering around these shared values and beliefs feel sincere respect and love for each other. We have multidirectional and very strong relationships from economy to training and tourism to defense." He added that both parties are continuing their efforts to maintain the brotherhood tie between the countries.
After his speech, Governor Yerlikaya cut the cake with Al-Sulaitin, Consul General, Dr. Kaya, Deputy Governor and Dr. Çalışkan, Provincial Security Director. Mansoor Bin Abdulla Al-Sulaitin, Consul General of the State of Qatar in Istanbul also addressed a speech to the participants during the reception. A souvenir photograph of the attendees was taken at the end of the programme.
