Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya warned the people and traders of Istanbul on the first Saturday that curfews were not imposed during the controlled normalization process.
Governor Yerlikaya, in his video post posted to his social media account, said: “Our target is the blue category. I trust you all. I believe in our City. We will succeed together.” he said.
The message of the Governor Yerlikaya:
"Dear Istanbulites good morning,
We left behind a year of fighting the epidemic.
We saw this year that the virus "does not know what getting tired is."
It doesn’t know what weddings are, what funerals are, it doesn’t take a vacation, it doesn’t even take a day off.
The virus is resistant. On the other hand, our Istanbul too is resistant and determined in this fight. It will continue to do so.
Since March 1, we have entered a period of controlled normalization.
Our Istanbul is currently in the list of high risk cities and its color is orange. We cannot accept this, our goal is the blue category.
"My dear fellow citizens,
You know that the immutable rule is the following; Strictly follow the rules relating to masks, distance and cleanliness outside and inside.
Thus, we will protect ourselves, but also we will protect our family, our future and our city.
I also want to say a word to our traders.
For a long time, you have missed your customers and your customers have missed you.
Let’s not go back to the very beginning. To do this, please take all necessary precautions before viewing the HES code and exceeding the 50% capacity.
We will check your sensitivity to the measurements by visiting you frequently.
I trust you all. I believe in our City. We will succeed all together.”
Günaydın Sevgili İstanbullular,
