TRNC Istanbul Consulate General Moved To His New Office
The opening ceremony of the new office of the TRNC Consulate General in Istanbul was held with the participation of Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya.
Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya, 1st Army Commander Lieutenant General Kemal Yeni, Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, TRNC Istanbul Consul General Seniha Birand Çınar, Cyprus veterans, province and district protocol and many guests attended the opening ceremony.
Governor Yerlikaya, IMM Mayor İmamoğlu and Consul General Çınar delivered speeches to the participants.
"Cyprus is our name, our island, our homeland"
Governor Yerlikaya stated as follows: "Cyprus is our name, it is our island, and it is a land of our homeland." From Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha to Kılıç Ali Pasha, from Cyprus Conqueror Lala Mustafa Pasha to these days, the Blue Homeland, which does not fit into the seas, has been one of our greatest loves. That is because this land, like every inch of our Anatolia, is our homeland, watered with the blood of our martyrs and paid for with the lives of our martyrs.
The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is an independent republic and will remain so forever. The bond between us and Northern Cyprus is an unbreakable bond of love. Our troubles and joys are the same, we were one yesterday, we are one today, and we will be one tomorrow, if God allows us."
Governor Yerlikaya continued as follows: "With the support of our Metropolitan Municipality, our Consulate General of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus achieved this modern office in the center of our Istanbul, where its visitors can easily reach it.
I commemorate the late Dr Fazıl Küçük and Rauf Denktaş, who led the Turkish Cypriots to win the independence struggle, with mercy and gratitude. I wish God's mercy on our 498 soldiers and 70 mujahideen who were martyred while fighting shoulder to shoulder in the Cyprus Peace Operation. May their souls rest in peace and God bless them all. I wish health and well-being to all our heroic Cyprus Veterans in the presence of our 100 Cyprus Veterans in Istanbul."
Stating that the Consulate General will be providing services in a much more modern and efficient way in their new building, Governor Yerlikaya concluded his speech by wishing the new consulate general building good luck in his endeavors.
“The Republic of Turkey will always be there for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus”
Starting his speech by wishing that the new office building will provide the best services to the people of Cyprus, IMM Mayor İmamoğlu stated as follows: "The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is a country and a state with historical ties and brotherhood. Therefore, the Republic of Turkey, as a guarantor state, will always stand by the TRNC.
We commemorate Fazıl Küçük with his determined diplomatic stance and Rauf Denktaş, a very valuable person of the 70s, 80s and even 90s, with mercy and gratitude. I wish mercy to our martyrs. I wish health, well-being and good lives to our veterans, who are standing strong today before us."
"We Achieved this Happy Result Today With The Support That Our Motherland Never Withholds"
Consul General Çınar, who stated that he was very happy and excited for the official opening of the new service building of the Istanbul Consulate General, stated as follows: "The old building of our Consulate General had become unable to meet the needs. For this reason, about two years ago, we set out to search for a new service building, and as a result of long efforts, today's happy result has been achieved with the support of our Motherland."
Consul General Çınar concluded his speech by thanking the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the allocation of the consulate building, the Istanbul Regional Directorate of Foundations, Governor Yerlikaya and IMM Mayor İmamoğlu for their support.
The opening ceremony was completed with a souvenir photo shoot following the speeches.
