Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya shared the data of Istanbul Directorate of Migration Management and stated that there were a total of 1,179,751 foreigners in Istanbul as of November 1, 2021.
Governor Yerlikaya gave information about the activities carried out within the scope of combating irregular migration in 2021 as well and stated as follows:
“According to the data of the Istanbul Directorate of Migration Management, as of November 1, 2021,
There are 535,025 Syrians under temporary protection;
and 644,726 people from different nationalities with residence permits;
There are 1,179,751 foreigners in total.
Within the scope of combating irregular migration in 2021
52,083 foreigners were evaluated;
19,294 foreigners were repatriated;
and 26,319 foreigners were transferred to repatriation centers.
Statements should be made according to official figures while giving statistical information about Istanbul."
