Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank and Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya, after examining the vehicles that will compete in the 16th TÜBİTAK Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Races organized within the scope of TEKNOFEST, started the race and tested the track before Formula 1 with the team captains who were ranked the highest after the race.
The 16th TÜBİTAK Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Races organized within the scope of TEKNOFEST in Istanbul Park, was held with the participation of Minister Varank and Governor Yerlikaya, Tuzla District Governor Ali Akça, ITO President Şekib Avdagiç, TUBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, Intercity Board Chairman Vural Ak, and TUBİTAK members and students.
Minister Varank and Governor Yerlikaya, who examined the vehicles before the race, visited the stands and chatted with the students.
In the race, which started with the command of Minister Varank and Governor Yerlikaya, electric vehicles of 22 teams competed fiercely with each other.
Minister Varank, Governor Yerlikaya and TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Mandal presented gifts to the award-winning students.
Following the races, Minister Varank and Governor Yerlikaya, together with the winning team captains, shared the excitement of the students by driving on the track before Formula 1.
Governor Yerlikaya drove with Burak Aygün, the captain of the Sakarya Applied Sciences Subu Tetra Team, who ranked in the race, and tested the track.
