The representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Philippe Leclerc, assigned to Turkey, visited Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya.
Philippe Leclerc Philippe Leclerc, UNHCR representative in Turkey, visited the Governor of Istanbul, Ali Yerlikaya in his office, accompanied by UNHCR Deputy Representative in Turkey Jean-Marie Garelli, UNHCR Istanbul Field Agent Director Fatih Elkaddah, UNHCR Legal Assistant in Istanbul Can Vodina, UNHCR Senior Refugee Protection Specialist in Istanbul Selçuk Şatana.
Deputy Governor Özlem Bozkurt Gevrek attended meetings held in the Governor’s Office.
Governor Yerlikaya congratulated and wished success to Leclerc, for his mission as UNHCR representative which begins in Turkey, and said they attach importance to working in cooperation with international organizations.
At the meeting where activities in the field of immigration and international protection were discussed, Governor Yerlikaya wished Leclerc success in his mission by expressing his desire to continue the cooperation.
Leclerc said Turkey's hospitality is important and thanked Governor Yerlikaya for studies on migration, refugee aid activities during the epidemic period and measures taken by the governor.
After consultation, the meeting ended.
