A cooperation protocol was signed by and between Istanbul Governorship and Üsküdar University and NPISTANBUL Brain Hospital within the scope of "Families at University Project". With this protocol signed, the Families at University Project will become available to many families and individuals across Istanbul.
The protocol signing ceremony held at the Governorship of Istanbul was attended by Governor of Istanbul Ali Yerlikaya, Chairman of the Board of NP Istanbul Brain Hospital and Üsküdar University Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan and Fırat Tarhan, Board Member of NP Istanbul Brain Hospital.
"I hope the project will produce good results"
Expressing his excitement about the project at the signing ceremony, Governor Yerlikaya stated as follows: "We signed the protocol of the Families at University Project. On the one hand, our Üsküdar University and on the other our NP Istanbul Hospital: we, as the Governor's Office, become partners of this project with the signature we have signed. Our aim is to raise awareness of individuals and families to find and maintain peace and happiness, and to strengthen society in the end."
Referring to how important family is for society, Governor Yerlikaya continued his speech as follows: "The most important foundation stone of society is family. Therefore, we should make every effort to keep our homes in an environment of peace, happiness and well-being. We have a problem with not being able to socialize as much as possible during this pandemic period. We mostly go to our work and then directly our home, we try to stay away from the crowds and social circles as much as possible.
There is a need for a truly scientific guidance on how to establish the communication about raising the awareness of the individual, that is attempted here, and solving the existing problems related to peace in the family. To this end, the success of Üsküdar University, where the career of Mr. Nevzat is undeniable, and his experience is indisputable, and the success of our NP hospital is obvious.
As a result of this cooperation, when families apply in online environments, meaning in virtual environments, the problems and determinations related to them are examined within a certain template and the training activities continue with a certain procedure regarding the accepted ones.
The first demo was carried out between June 16 and August. The pros and cons were seen there, but it should be stated with great pleasure that the pros are too many. Now, as the Governorship of Istanbul, we want to reach larger segments, this is our main goal.
I hope this effort will produce good results. I would like to thank our esteemed Rector Professor and Üsküdar University and the management and staff of our NPIstanbul Brain Hospital, and especially Mr. Fırat. May the peace and happiness of our families be permanent."
"The Magic Word of the Family is 'Cooperation'"
Prof. Dr. Tarhan thanked Governor Yerlikaya for their support to the project and emphasized the importance of the signed protocol for the project that set out to benefit families.
"Our team worked together with our esteemed Deputy Governor and prepared the "Families at the University" Protocol after a long effort. This project will last 6 months. We want to help families with the project that Eyüp, Pendik, Gaziosmanpaşa and Üsküdar Governorships will carry out together with Üsküdar University and NP Hospital.
More important than being beneficial to the families who are at a divorce process is teaching people how to be a family especially in terms of protective mental health. The magic word for a family "cooperation".
We work on teaching how to cooperate between men, women and children in the family and we work on problem solving methods on these issues. Here, with the advice of our Governor, we turned this into an official protocol and we will carry out this within a period of 6 months.
The first stage was a pilot project, we will start with the second stage. I hope this is a project that will benefit families and future generations." and he thanked Governor Yerlikaya after completing his speech.
