Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya made evaluations about the tourism of Istanbul at the meeting where he met with representatives of the tourism sector.
Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya, Deputy Governor Özlem Bozkurt Gevrek, Promotion General Director of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Timuçin Güler, Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Dr. Coşkun Yılmaz, TUGEV Vice Chairman Bahadır Yaşık, TÜROB President Müberra Eresin, IGA CEO Kadri Samsunlu attended the meeting held at the Istanbul Governorship.
In his assessment at the meeting, Governor Yerlikaya stated that Istanbul, the 14th largest metropolis in the world, has a great tourism potential and continued as follows: "Our Istanbul is one of the biggest tourism centers of the world, both historically and culturally. The latest statistical data also point out that the number of foreign tourists visiting Istanbul will increase compared to last year.
Sharing Istanbul's March 2021 data, Governor Yerlikaya stated as follows: "In March 2021, the number of foreign tourists visiting Istanbul increased by 45.85 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 545,608. Among the most foreign tourists visiting Istanbul, Russia ranked first with 87,485 tourists, Iran with 56,108, and Germany with 42,494 tourists."
The meeting was completed after the consultation of Governor Yerlikaya with representatives of the tourism sector.
