Animals living on the street were not forgotten during the full lockdown period in Istanbul. Distribution of cat and dog food and bird feed prepared by the Istanbul Governorship and district municipalities continued. Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya also distributed food and feed for stray animals, which he called "our dear friends", in various points of Istanbul.
Governor Yerlikaya stated that our dear friends were not forgotten during the full lockdown period in Istanbul and stated as follows: "IMM and our district municipalities prepared 165 tons of cat and 495 tons of dog food for them to be fed. We, as the Governorship, provide 10 tons of food support. We follow the process closely so that stray animals do not go without food and water."
Governor Yerlikaya continued his words as follows: "They are our lovely friends living on streets. During the full lockdown, the food containers should not be left empty and animals should not be left without food. Our dear friends are entrusted to us all."
