The first light was seen in the Gayrettepe-Kağıthane-Istanbul Airport Metro Project Tunnel. The subway line between Gayrettepe and Istanbul Airport, which will be traveled by 600 thousand Istanbulites every day in 35 minutes, will reduce the traffic load in the city while passing through the borders of Beşiktaş, Şişli, Kağıthane, Eyüp and Arnavutköy districts.
Following excavation works, the tunnel that exceed 68 kilometers with double tubes reaches to Gayrettepe Station. First fully automatic and then driverless trains will break the metro speed record at a speed of 120 kilometers per hour between 9 stations along the line of 37.5 kilometers.
When the project of which the first rail welding is performed on January 18 is completed, with Yenikapı-Taksim-Hacıosman line and metrobus at Gayrettepe Station, the integration will be ensured from Kayaşehir Station on Airport-Halkalı line, which is the continuation of this line and under construction, to Başakşehir City Hospital, and passenger transfer will be possible with Kabataş-Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey metro line at Kağıthane Station and with high-speed train line at Istanbul Airport Station.
