The final stage of the 57th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey in Istanbul was held with the presence of Vice President Fuat Oktay, Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Mehmet Kasapoğlu and Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya.
Vice President Fuat Oktay, Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Mehmet Kasapoğlu, Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya, Deputy Governor Niyazi Erten, Turkish Cycling Federation President Emin Müftüoğlu provincial and district protocol and many athletes participated in the 57th Presidential Cycling Tour Award Ceremony held in Taksim Square, the last stage of which was stopped due to weather conditions.
Vice President Oktay delivered a speech addressing the participants at the award ceremony.
Vice President Oktay stated as follows: "The 4th Tour of Antalya has been successfully completed last month. Today, we met in this organization, which is the biggest proof of the importance we attach to this sport, which we have organized and turned into a tradition for the last 57 years. Another important feature of this tour is that it is the only tour in the world organized under the auspices of the Presidency. The Presidential Cycling Tour has started to be organized at the World Tour standards, which is the most prestigious, staged bicycle races since 2008, and it was officially elevated to this category in 2017. This year as well, it has been one of the 25 bike tours organized at the highest standards in the world in the UCI (International Cycling Union) ProSeries category."
Underlining that the event was organized with the theme of 'Respect for History and Nature' this year, Vice President Oktay stated as follows: "Our event has given us the opportunity to clearly show everyone the historical and natural beauties of our country and how we protect and protect these beauties. Beyond its competitive nature, it encompasses feelings of discipline and brotherhood as well. In this respect, I believe that everyone has a lot to learn from athletes. If we fully succeed in reflecting these features within the nature of sports into our lives, we will have come a long way in establishing friendship and peace. We would like to see all our athletes coming from all over the world and 7 continents and participating in this competition in Turkey on other occasions. Turkey's hospitality and unique tourism resorts are always open to all of you."
After the speeches of Vice President Oktay, the medals of the winning athletes and teams were presented by Vice President Oktay, Minister Kasapoğlu, Governor Yerlikaya and Turkish Cycling Federation President Müftüoğlu.
The athlete from New Zealand, Patrick Bevin was the winner of the 57th Presidential Cycling Tour, with Jay Tristan Vine in second place and Eduardo Sepulveda in third place.
Patrick Bevin became the owner of the turquoise jersey, Noah Granigan the red jersey, Jasper Philipsen the green jersey and Batuhan Özgür won the white jersey.
President of Turkish Cycling Federation Emin Müftüoğlu presented a gift to Vice President Oktay and Minister Kasapoğlu to commemorate the day.
The 57th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey ended after the award ceremony and group photo shoot.
